MEGTRON 6 Changes to Copper Cladding Options
MEGTRON 6 (R-5775, R-5670) Copper Options
Due to technical issues related to the earthquake in Japan March 11, 2011, Panasonic will no longer be able to supply ST (Standard) and VLP coppers for our Megtron6 product line.
Replacements for these two options are both the same; Mitsui RTF copper from Malaysia.
- In the case of ST copper supplied by Nikko (JX Nippon Mining and Metals Corporation) Japan, Mitsui RTF is the same cost, but a far superior surface profile with major improvement in Loss performance.
- In regards to VLP copper supplied by Mitsui Japan, Mitsui RTF has a very similar electrical performance, but at a significant cost reduction.
This change represents a significant product improvement to the MEGTRON 6 product offering. RTF copper foil is the standard for high reliability in many segments of the high density market worldwide.
We regret the need for these changes, but material shortages make them necessary. The supply of Standard and VLP copper can no longer be consistently maintained for MEGTRON 6. If there are any questions please contact your local Panasonic representative.
