“Today, I spoke with several of our Panasonic counterparts in Japan (PEW Division). They reported to me that neither employees nor their families have suffered injuries as a result of last Friday’s earthquake. The factories in Koriyama suffered only slight damage such as fallen ceiling tiles. No damage to production equipment was reported. Other factors that may impact the delivery of Panasonic Products to NA include:
- The roads and bridges to Narita Airport are damaged
- The roads to Yokohama Ocean Port have been damaged
- It will take one (1) week to fully inspect plant operations
- We expect a two (2) week delay in our supply cycle from Japan
Matrix will provide another written update on Friday March 18th. On behalf of Matrix and all Canadians, we extend our sincerest condolences to the people of Japan”, said Kieran Healy, President at Matrix USA.
